Thank you for your interest in Midwest Pilates Institute! Our comprehensive Pilates teacher training program is designed for a person seeking a full education in the Pilates Method. This includes all mat work and apparatus from beginning through advanced with particular emphasis on teaching skills and modalities, client-specific modifications, and anatomy. MPI is committed to providing a quality learning experience to every student. In 2010 we voluntarily sought state approval from the Educational Approval Board and in August 2011 Midwest Pilates Institute became the first Wisconsin EAB state-approved Pilates Teacher Training School in Wisconsin and one of the few state-approved programs in the country.

Why Midwest Pilates Institute?

A unique aspect of the MPI programs is that it gives students the full Pilates education from the perspective of Eve Gentry, a woman who trained and worked for Joe Pilates for over 23 years. Through her experience of cancer recovery and rehabilitation she developed her own technique called Pre-Pilates or what others call "fundamentals" not completely unlike the exercises you see in Physical Therapy. We train our students to become proficient in the Eve Gentry technique so they may teach all ages and levels the benefits of Pilates.

Comprehensive Curriculum

Students enrolled in MPI will learn the history of Joseph Pilates, gain knowledge of the Pilates principles, develop an understanding of the Eve Gentry Technique and how to apply these pre-Pilates principles in their teaching. Students will become proficient in levels 1-4 Pilates Mat work, Universal Reformer, Trapeze Table (Cadillac), Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel, and Magic Circle. Students will also study musculo-skeletal anatomy and kinesiology, anatomy and physiology of the major organs systems, as well as holistic nutrition. Finally, MPI prepares each student for an entry level position as a Pilates teacher by giving you the tools to develop and market and grow your own private Pilates business.

School Tuition

When comparing programs it is extremely important to look at curriculum and costs. Many programs do not offer a complete and comprehensive Pilates educational program nor do they disclose the entire cost of the program and may add additional fees along the way. At MPI we disclose all costs upfront and will never add additional fees above and beyond what is required to complete the program. Our Mission

Our mission at MPI is to provide a top notch education in Pilates by staying true to the original teachings of Joseph H. Pilates and his wife Clara. We teach the "abc's" of Pilates so you can later discern for yourself how to implement contemporary ideas into the classical work. Once you have completed our program you will have the confidence and expertise to teach others the authentic and complete system of the Pilates Method.
